There are two ways to look at this bike - either enjoy it as it is - with a brand new MOT - I think it's a great bike to get back into motorcycling - a real classic - I've had people come up to me at traffic lights to make me offers for it.
The other way of looking at it is as an easy restoration of a great classic bike - it's all standard and original - un-messed-about-with.
There really aren't many left about on the road.
Recorded milage is 9330 - but I've no way of telling if this is correct.
The bike has just sailed through an MOT with no work needed.
The bike is perfect for buzzing around town - easy to handle and fun to ride.

I bought this bike 2 years ago after getting the urge to return to biking after 20 years break.
I needed a bike to re-learn on and wanted the type of bike I lusted after when I was younger, but never managed to get hold of. I finally got round to taking my test last month and so now I'm looking for something bigger. I'll be really sad to let my XL go but hopefully someone else will enjoy it as much as I have. I want potential buyers to get a clear idea of the condition of this lovely bike, so that no one has any surprises or false impressions - here is a selection of photos - rollover the photos for a short description and click photo for a bigger version. It would be very easy to only include the photos that make it look like it's spent the last 30 years in a warm, dry garage, but that just isn't the case. It's a beautiful classic bike, but it has been used. Comes with Clymer service manual and Honda owners maunal. Points to be aware of... The seat cover is split and currently has gaffer tape on. There is surface rust on the frame, wheels and spokes, bits of the chromework. There are two small dents in the petrol tank, a paint chip, and some marking around the petrol cap. It can be a bit smokey at times. It could probably use a new battery. When The bike was MOT-ed and serviced, I asked the garage to let me know of any points that I should pass onto potential buyers - they didn't feel there was anything to be concerned about. |

email me with any questions. (within reason - I'm not that mechanically minded) - jhc.hodgson@gmail.com
come and have a look at it in Hastings, East Sussex. I'll make you a cup of tea. If you're covered by insurance and have some sort of deposit you can take it for a ride. This is a great chance to own a classic small bike and it's great fun to ride. |
